Peterson Cos. acquires Arlington apartments, West Virginia warehouses
September 2, 2025 I WASHINGTON BUSINESS JOURNAL -The Peterson Cos. recently spent nearly $242 million to acquire an Arlington apartment building and two industrial warehouses along the I-81 corridor, part of a strategy to broaden its mix of assets and extend its reach beyond Greater Washington.
The Fairfax-based developer bought the 292-unit The Clarendon apartment tower at 1200 N. Herndon St. in Arlington, steps from the Clarendon Metro station, for nearly $151 million on Aug. 28, according to public records. It also bought about 904,000 square feet of warehouses at 139 and 264 Development Drive in Inwood, West Virginia, part of the multibuilding Mid-Atlantic 81 Logistics Park, for $59 million and $32 million, respectively, on Aug. 27.
