Commercial Real Estate Peterson advances major residential redevelopment of Fair Oaks Business Park

SEPTEMBER 29, 2025 I Washington Business Journal – Peterson Cos. has refined plans for its Fairfax Crossing project at the Fair Oaks Business Park, one of several suburban office park-to-residential redevelopments on the boards in Greater Washington.

The Fairfax-based developer owns the 331,000-square-foot, 1980s-era office park at 11200-11204 and 3949 Pender Drive, just south of I-66 and west of the city of Fairfax. It plans to redevelop the park with up to 706 residences, both apartments and townhouses, weighing in at nearly 1.2 million square feet, a quadrupling of existing density.
