Marketing & Events Coordinator

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

As Marketing & Events Coordinator at National Harbor, you will create memorable experiences for millions of our guests, tell the stories of those experiences through photography, video, and social media and work with tenants to create programs that deliver value to owners, partners and guests. You have a passion for visual storytelling and creating content that engages, motivates, and inspires.

In addition to strong technical capabilities in capturing, editing, and producing content, you are savvy in learning to manage unique digital assets, including a jumbo screen with a heavy rotation of programming throughout the day.  Furthermore, given the seasonal nature of our business, this role has a non-traditional schedule with hours on weekends and nights during Spring, Summer and Fall. 

WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in marketing and social media management
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, use of the Internet, including social media, WordPress, Photoshop, InDesign, and photography
  • Knowledge of video editing
  • Must be able to work and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment under tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Professional appearance in both demeanor and dress
  • Must have good command of the English language; oral and written
  • Must be detailed oriented and organized
  • Demonstrate ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25lbs.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor Degree Preferred or equivalent work experience.

​SPECIFIC DUTIES

MARKETING

  • Create, edit, and post videos for tenants.
  • Create an opening media plan for new tenants.
  • Post appropriately to social media including a weekly wrap up during the summer.
  • Create and manage social media calendar.
  • Using brand standards, create creative for screens, windmasters, invites, presentations, etc.
  • Maintain photo library by uploading to Libris, tagging photos, and organizing folders.

EVENTS SUPPORT

  • Coordinate and manage holiday events to ensure a great experience for guests.
  • Work with tenants to get them involved in promotions.
  • Hands-on assistance in a variety of logistics, including event coordination for both private and public events; to include staffing and working promotional events, as needed, including nights and weekends.
  • Coordinate technical needs of live entertainment and performances including plaza concerts, street performers, artists and activities. 
  • Take pictures of sponsorships and file appropriately.

JUMBO SCREEN

  • Develop and maintain the programming calendar for the screen to include live sport events, entertainment, shows, movies, etc.
  • Manage the flow of content from advertisers, retailers, etc to ensure content is always current and accurate.
  • Interface with IT, National Harbor operations, and vendors to ensure the screen is working and that volume and brightness standards are being maintained.
  • Communicate with ICON on schedule and directions when not on site.

GENERAL

  • Ensure brochures racks are filled and hotels and tenants have brochures.
  • Verify weekly that elevators and windmasters are current.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must be able to work a non-traditional schedule based on the event calendar during Spring, Summer, & Fall.
  • Schedule will fluctuate based on seasonality of event schedule.
