Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator assists in the implementation of the strategic marketing plan for the Virginia retail properties, including Fairfax Corner and Virginia Gateway. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting all marketing functions including event programming, digital and social media, community and public relations and tenant partnerships to achieve overall property objectives.  This position is responsible for customer service standards, consistency and compliance among all of the shopping center experiences. 

The position reports to the Regional Marketing Director and requires an individual who is highly competent in organizing and prioritizing tasks while staying committed to delivering quality work and meeting deadlines.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in marketing and/or events is preferred
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment, under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance in both demeanor and dress
  • Must have good command of the English language, oral and written
  • Demonstrate ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously
  • Must be proficient in the entire Microsoft Office Suite; Graphic Design Experience a plus
  • Familiar with digital and social media platforms and curating content
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25lbs.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree required.  Marketing, Communication or related area, preferred.

Specific Duties:

  • Work with the Regional Marketing Director and Property Manager to achieve all marketing objectives and execution of the marketing plan
  • Assist the Regional Marketing Director in the production and execution of all marketing programs
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new and existing event programs
  • Manage event logistics and communication with vendors, tenants and team members while identifying best practice approaches
  • Create and Implement promotions to drive traffic, sales and achieve overall property objectives 
  • Curate and manage content for the assigned retail properties websites and email newsletter while maintaining brand standards
  • Curate and manage social media pages for assigned properties including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter while maintaining brand standards
  • Partner with tenants to curate content for digital and social channels
  • Populate and manage online event calendars
  • Assist with the implementation of sponsorship activations
  • Manage on-site signage program
  • Communicate and maintain high standards of customer service
  • Provide Social Media and digital marketing support for Fair Lakes League
